What is Baclofen?
Baclofen is used to help relax certain muscles in your body. It relieves the spasms, cramping, and tightness of muscles caused by medical problems such as multiple sclerosis or certain injuries to the spine.
Baclofen does not cure these problems, but it may allow other treatments such as physical therapy to be more helpful in improving an individual’s condition.

What are the effects of Baclofen?
Because of the possibility of sedation, caution is suggested for the operation of automobiles or other dangerous machinery and activities made hazardous by decreased alertness.
Individuals taking the drug should also be cautioned that the central nervous system affects the Baclofen maybe additive to those of alcohol and other central nervous system depressants such as benzodiazepines.
What is Baclofen addiction and abuse?
Baclofen is rarely taken alone. In most cases Baclofen is used in combination with other central nervous system depressants such as alcohol, benzodiazepines or narcotics in order to receive their euphoric effects.
The relaxants prolong the effect of alcohol or a narcotic or even increase it.
Additionally, prescriptions for skeletal muscle relaxants are usually easier to obtain than prescriptions for narcotics and they are less expensive.
What are some of the side effects of Baclofen?
The side effects of Baclofen include: drowsiness, dizziness, weakness, tiredness, headache, trouble sleeping, nausea, and constipation.
What are the withdrawal symptoms of Baclofen?
Symptoms of withdrawal from Baclofen can vary in intensity and may include: hallucinations, seizures, high fever, increased or rebound spasticity, rapid breakdown of muscle tissue, organ failure, low blood pressure and even death.
