What is Trazodone?

Trazodone is an anti-depressant medication. It is thought to increase the activity of one brain chemical called serotonin which may become unbalanced and cause depression.

Trazodone is used to treat depression, and it may also be used for the relief of anxiety disorders, sleeplessness, insomnia, and chronic pain.

What are the effects of Trazodone?

Unlike other anti-depressants, Trazodone is less commonly deliberately abused.

Users may begin to abuse the medication because their prescribed dosage is no longer working. This is because they have developed a tolerance to the drug.

They will continue to up their dose while not only overusing it but developing an addiction at the same time.

What is Trazodone addiction and abuse?

Trazodone abuse means taking too much of the drug just to feel its effects.

People who abuse this drug are not only putting themselves at risk for developing an addiction, but they are also at risk for experiencing withdrawal, depression, and possibly family and work-related problems.

Abuse of any drug almost always leads to a mental obsession and a craving for more of the drug. When a user does not stop their abuse, they will surely develop an addiction in a short time.

What are the side effects of Trazodone?

The side effects of Trazodone include: blurred vision, constipation, decreased sexual desire, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth, headache, light headedness, nausea and tiredness.

What are the withdrawal symptoms of Trazodone?

The withdrawal symptoms of Trazodone include: irritability, agitation, dizziness, anxiety, confusion, headache and insomnia.
