What is Oxycodone?

Oxycodone is an opioid narcotic pain reliever similar to morphine. An opioid is sometimes called a narcotic.

Oxycodone is used to treat moderate to severe pain. The extended release form of this medication is for around-the-clock treatment of pain.

What are the effects of Oxycodone?

Users achieve a feeling of euphoria 10 minutes after using Oxycodone. This sensation may last from three to four hours.

Coming down from Oxycodone’s initial effects, users may experience dizziness, vomiting and nausea after the effects of the drug have worn off.

What is Oxycodone addiction and abuse?

Oxycodone is most often abused in the form of a pill taken orally, most often in combination with alcohol.

A person can develop a physical dependence on Oxycodone after taking it for only a few weeks.

It is also a highly psychologically addictive substance as it affects the brain by stopping it from producing endorphins.

Over time, an Oxycodone abuser will find it more difficult to function without the drug.

What are the side effects of Oxycodone?

The side effects of Oxycodone include: nausea, vomiting, constipation, light-headedness, dizziness and drowsiness.

What are the withdrawal symptoms of Oxycodone?

The withdrawal symptoms of Oxycodone include: anxiety, diarrhea, inability to fall asleep or stay asleep, increase in body temperature, increase in blood pressure, increased breathing and heart rate, muscle spasms and severe flu-like symptoms.
