What is Lortab?
Lortab contains a combination of acetaminophen and hydrocodone.
Hydrocodone is in a group of drugs called opioid pain relievers. An opioid is sometimes called a narcotic.
Acetaminophen is a less potent pain reliever and a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug that increases the effect of hydrocodone.
Lortab is used to relieve moderate to severe pain.

What are the effects of Lortab?
Extended Lortab use will impact your body and mind. Lortab works by changing the chemical workings of the brain and in addition to easing feelings of pain, produces a euphoric calm.
When you interfere with the normal workings of the brain, severe mood swings can result, especially when the drug is not taken.
This might cause you to be uncharacteristically depressed and anxious – symptoms that are difficult to hide from others.
What is Lortab addiction and abuse?
Lortab abuse could include: altering the Lortab dose, taking it for unintended reasons, or repeated chronic use despite potential negative consequences.
Potentially addictive drugs such as Lortab activate the brain’s reward centers.
This simulation could cause patients to actively seek out the rewarding feelings, meaning they may crave the drug more and more.
Powerful psychological and physiological cravings are indicative of drug dependency.
What are the side effects of Lortab?
The side effects of Lortab can include: mental depression, dizziness, light-headedness, respiratory depression, stupor or delirium, sleepiness and agitation.
What are the withdrawal symptoms of Lortab?
The withdrawal symptoms of Lortab include: mood swings, tremors, hallucinations, delirium, flu-like symptoms, sleeplessness, depression, diarrhea, muscle and bone pain, confusion, extreme irritability and muscle spasms.
