What is Roxanol?
Roxanol is sometimes called morphine sulfate. Morphine belongs to a class of drugs called opioid pain relievers. An opioid is sometimes called a narcotic. Roxanol is used to treat moderate to severe pain. Extended release capsules are used when around-the-clock relief is needed.
What are the effects of Roxanol?
There are many inherent dangers of abusing any narcotic, including Roxanol.
Roxanol Addiction and Abuse
The physical consequences of Roxanol abuse can be extremely dangerous.
Taking high doses of a narcotic, especially if you’re not used to it can result in breathing problems, extreme drowsiness, coma and even death.
The risk of overdose is especially high with Roxanol and like products.
Since many common methods of drug abuse involve crushing these tablets, causing them to release too much morphine too quickly, and ingesting too much of the liquid-based medicine.
What is Roxanol addiction and abuse?
Roxanol has an abuse liability similar to that of other opioid agonists, and is a schedule II controlled substance and can be abused.
When abused, the liquid or tablet may be crushed, chewed, snorted, dissolved, or injected which could easily lead to lethal overdose.
Morphine has often been diverted for non-medical use, especially in combination with other psychoactive substances such as alcohol and other pills.
What are the side effects of Roxanol?
The side effects of Roxanol include: nausea, vomiting, constipation, light-headedness, dizziness and drowsiness.
What are the withdrawal symptoms of Roxanol?
The withdrawal symptoms of Roxanol include: severe flu-like symptoms, anxiety, diarrhea, increased blood pressure, increased breathing and heart rate, kicking movements, severe backache and muscle spasms.
