Duragesic Withdrawal and Duragesic Detox

What is Duragesic?
Duragesic as a prescription drug can be found in oral lozenges or lollipops, effervescent tablets, transdermal patches, and injectable formulations.
Each of these applications is used to treat chronic pain except for the injectable formulation which is used for potent analgesia and anesthesia.

What is Duragesic withdrawal?
Regular use will produce physical dependency in a few weeks, and this can lead to severe withdrawal if use is suddenly stopped.
After discontinuing Duragesic, it takes 17 hours or more for a 50 percent decrease in serum concentrations.
If planning to discontinue use of Duragesic, a gradual dosage decrease is recommended since it is not known what dose level the drug may be discontinued without producing the signs and symptoms of an abrupt withdrawal.
What are the withdrawal symptoms of Duragesic?
The withdrawal symptoms of Duragesic include: anxiety, rapid heartbeat, nervousness, irritability, insomnia, weakness, and flu-like symptoms.
What is Duragesic detox?
Due to the fact that Duragesic is only prescribed for long-term, severe pain problems, patients must taper down slowly under the care of a knowledgeable physician or enter a detox center for 24-hour treatment.
With a moderate to severe addiction from relatively long-term use, an inpatient detox in the hospital or medically supervised setting is highly recommended for its multi-disciplinary approach.
